Mary graduated from Washington Irving High School and attended the College of New Rochelle for two years. In 1956 Mary married her childhood sweetheart, the late George Theophilus Carter.  They were happily married for thirty-eight years. The marriage produced five lovely children: Sharon, Wanda, Michele, Crystal and Gregory.  Two granddaughters, Clairisse and Trol.

Mary always gives a helping hand for those in need.  Sharing and caring and loves everyone.  Her favorite song is Great is Thy Faithfulness.  Favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things in Christ who strengthens (NKJV). Mary graciously and gracefully shows her loving and caring in everything she does whether they may be difficult times or happy occasions.  Just by looking at her you can see her strength, determination and endurance; in addition to her beauty and grace.
