Clergy - Biography
 |
Rev. Alphonzo Greene is the son of Deacon Clarence
Greene and Nippie Greene - who were both members of
the Cornerstone Baptist Church. His only sister is
Pamela Greene who now resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
He is an Associate Minister at Cornerstone Baptist
Church and his ministry includes leadership in the
Youth Fellowship, church school Young Adult Department,
and the Board of Christian Education. He chairs the
Ethnic Forum Committee that is responsible for forums
and seminars at the church, and the church's annual
retreat. He has been given the responsibility for
Cornerstone's second Sunday worship service that is
Youth Emphasis Sunday.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the City University
of New York. He graduated summa cum laude from Kingsborough
Community College and is a member of Psi Chi - the National
Honor Society in Psychology and Phi Theta Kappa - the National
Honor Society for Community Colleges. He has attended New
York Theological Seminary and has credits towards his Master's
degree in Divinity.
Rev. Greenee is a dedicated family man and is extremely active
within the community. His wife of 23 years, Darlene, and their
children, Aisha age 21 and Isaiah age 13, are proud of his
many contributions to the community. Among his many awards
is a citation for community service from former Governor Mario
Cuomo and he was also honored in 1995 by the National Association
for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, as the distinguished
alumnus of the year from York College. Rev. Greenee loves his
entire Cornerstone family and never tires of being in services
to his church family and community.
