Clergy - Biography

Joseph R. Heath is a native of Newport News, Virginia.
There he received his formal education, and was a
member of the Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church, becoming
a Christian in his early teens. Having a love for
good preaching, and a devoted Christian, he joined
the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He says, "the
only thing better than good preaching, is more good
preaching".
Joseph answered the call to the Gospel January 24th
1995. He preached his trial sermon in August 1997,
and was licensed to preach by Pastor Harry S. Wright
on November 23rd of the same year. Joseph is attending
Community Bible Institute. He received his Bachelors
of Theology degree in 2001 from Lighthouse Christian
College. He is presently working towards his Master
of Divinity Degree.

Minister Heath is a member of the Gospel Chorus, Male Chorus,
President of the Allen Jordan Laymen's Movement, a former
Trustee and member of the Board of Deacons. He has served
for many years as an Eastern Baptist Laymen, where he received
the Martin Luther King Humanitarian Award. Minister Heath
is also a member of the Empire State Laymen and has served
six years as Vice President of Area "1A". He served
as Video Photographer for the National Baptist Laymen for
many years and is currently a member of the Special Projects
Committee.
Joseph has traveled with the National Laymen on three missionary
trips through out Africa in 1988, 1995, and 1997. He is also
a member of the Men's Department of the World Baptist Alliance.
Minister Heath is married to Patricia, a devoted and loving
wife of thirty two years. They have a daughter Jacqueline
and a son Marvin. Joseph loves to travel, and listen to Gospel
Music and the Word. His favorite bible reading is Corinthians
Chapter 13.
