Jenal L. Hardaway answered God’s call to
preach in a dream. Under the leadership of her father
in the ministry, Dr. Thomas J. Boyd, Pastor Emeritus of
the Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Minister Hardaway
was licensed to preach in 1994. Minister Hardaway
served as the Director of Christian Education, Advisor
to the General Missionary Society, Founder and
Facilitator of Biblically Empowered Singles for Truth (B.E.S.T.).
Under her direction, Salem had its first Leadership
Conference. In 1996, Minister Hardaway was called by
the Parkchester Baptist and Senior Pastor, Dr. Hillary
Gaston, to serve as the Assistant Pastor in the Bronx,
New York. Minister Hardaway was ordained by Pastor
Boyd and her home church, Salem, in 1997.

At Parkchester, Rev. Hardaway
was responsible for the Christian Education Ministry, Mission
Ministry, Men’s, Women’s and Youth Ministries. Rev. Hardaway’s
focus was young people and New Membership classes. Her first
accomplishment was to help the Cheerleaders get new uniforms. Rev.
Hardaway added Bible Calisthenics, memory verses and tithing lessons
to the new members’ program. In September, 2000 Parkchester
called Rev. Hardaway to serve as Interim Pastor. During her first
year, God blessed Parkchester to grow spiritually, numerically and
financially. Thirty-four (34) new members joined the Church
Family. One of the church mothers suggested that we sacrifice a
dollar a day during Lent. Everybody, including our children,
participated and gave sacrificially!! Through their faithfulness
and sacrificial giving, over and above tithes, God multiplied our
gifts and we were able to bring into God’s house upwards to
$10,000. Over the next three years, God’s blessed Parkchester to
add 44 more new members to the Church Family. Parkchester
contributed to missions and remained faithful in sharing their time,
talents and treasures within the church and community.
In
2007, Rev. Hardaway joined Cornerstone Baptist Church. Rev.
Hardaway serves as an Associate Pastor. She is a member of Women of
the Word and a Coach for the Victorious Disciples Ministry.
